Home Commissioner of Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha, IAS while highlighting on Covid-19 status in the state as of 3.00 pm, the 29th March 2020 at NSDMA State Level Control Room, Kezieke, Kohima, mentioned that a total of 3982 people, including students who have returned from outside the State from 6th March 2020 onwards, have self reported to the respective District Surveillance Teams and are under home quarantine. Out of which, 3590 are presently under home quarantine and 392 have completed the quarantine period. 

 

The Department of Health & Family Welfare has distributed a total of 740 PPE to all the 11 districts; 200 for Kohima, 100 for Dimapur, 90 each to Mokochung and Mon, 50 to Wokha, 40 each to Tuensang, Phek and Zunheboto and 30 each to Kiphire, Peren and Longleng. The rest of the stocks have been kept at the State headquarters. Also, the department has kept ready 133 number of Ambulances for emergency, pooled in from the Churches, Para Military, NGOs, individuals, private hospitals and the government. 

 

A total of 1523 persons have self registered in the app after its launching by the Chief Minister of Nagaland on 28th March 2020. Sinha also requested the remaining 312 persons who have not completed their full details to submit and be a part in our fight against covid-19. He further requested those who have entered the State after 6th March 2020 to self register in the app with full details. 

 

Out of 22 samples sent for testing,  17 were negative and results of 5 are awaited. A total of 24619 phone calls have been received through our health helpline numbers. He stated that the availability of the essential commodities and goods across the state continues to be normal. Reports  are being received from the districts on daily basis. The PDS food grains in the state is also sufficient in the FCI godowns which would be enough for three and a half months. 

 

Sinha also informed that a State Level Control Room during Covid-19 lockdown has also set up, whose numbers are 0370- 2291122 and 0370-2291120 for any grievance being faced by anyone due to lockdown measures. Any person from Nagaland who is outside the state and is stranded or facing hardships because of the lockdown may also be contacted at the given numbers. 

 

He also appealed to the public to continue strictly adhering to the directives issued and stay at home unless unavoidable for buying food and other essential commodities. At the shops and outlets maintain "Social Distancing", he reiterated.
