ONE DAY TRAINING UNDER MOVCDNER-IV HELD AT LONGKHIM

One day training under MOVCDNER- IV was organised by Sub-divisional Agriculture Department conducted on 7th May 2024 at Old Mangakhi Village Council Hall under Longkhim with Deputy Commissioner & Chairperson MOVCDNER-IV Tuensang, A Zibenthung Kithan as Special Guest. 

While addressing the gathering Kithan said that Agriculture is the main occupation of the state and for more development in Agri. sector the Department is providing various training with scientific method for more productivity and for the benefit of the farmers. He also mentioned that the forefathers were energetic in farming but could not avail sufficient products due to lack of scientific method and encouraged to avoid traditional method of farming. Kithan urge the gathering to put into practice what they have learnt today for more progressive farmers. He also expressed his gratitude to SDAO, Longkhim, R. Akila Rothrong for being posted at Longkhim and urged the people to extend fullest cooperation to him and the department for rapid development in the region. 

The resource persons highlighted various activities and methods for progressive farming methods during the technical session. Organic farming in Nagaland and its relevance and constraints was highlighted by ACTO. KVK, Tuensang, Longmayanger. Soil health Management was proposed by SDO (Soil) Shamator, Beso Chang while Sowing Techniques on Soyabean and Perilla by farm Manager, KVK Tuensang Yanger I Kichu. Package and practices on Organic farming & marketing of organic produce by Chief Operation Manager, Green Caravan, Imlimanen Ozukum.

Welcome address was delivered by the chairperson of the program SDAO, Longkhim, R. Akila Rothrong.
