WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATED AT BHANDARI

Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Bhandari celebrated the World Environment Day with the theme, "Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience" at its school compound on 5th June 2024.

Lichambemo Odyuo, Senior Gratuade Teacher speaking on the theme emphasised that in order to ensure a safe future for the planet earth, the work of restoration of the environment should start now as a shared responsibility by one and all, and called on the students to be informed on the importance of having green and healthy environment.

Speech competition on Safe Environment, Cleanliness drive, tree plantation and sensitization on waste management was also held.

The 45th Assam Rifles also took part in the celebration whereby they organized and sponsored a painting competition based on the theme.

Earlier in the day, a public mass social work was conducted in and around Bhandari Town to sensitize on single use plastic waste management under Swaach Bharat Mission, and also as part of monsoon preparedness.
