WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATED AT KIPHIRE

Kiphire Forest Division organised the World Environment Day celebration on 5th June 2024, in collaboration with 9 NBSE affiliated Schools (Loyola Hr. Sec. School, Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Good Shepherd School, El Beth School, Cambridge School, Saramati View Modern School, Trinity School, Agape Hr. Sec. School and Holy Cross School) under Kiphire Town and the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Kiphire. 

The event commenced with the Half Marathon Race for the students, which was flagged off by SP Kiphire, Chinese Chakhesang. The event was hosted by the Loyola Higher Secondary School.

DC Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer, was the Special Invitee of the programme. In his speech, the DC urged everyone to pursue for environmental conscious lifestyle and highlighted several environmental challenges as well as the contributions that can be made to mitigate them.

 On behalf of the Kiphire Forest Division, ACF, Chupitho, expressed gratitude to the Principals and Teachers, the DC & SP Office, the CMO.

The Winners of the Half Marathon in the boy’s category were Toroli of Loyola Higher Secondary School, Thrilongse of Cambridge School and Suripa Anar of Loyola Higher Secondary School bagged first, second and third respectively.  

In the Girl's Category, Ilivi Chophy of Agape Hr. Sec. School, Azila L. Sangtam of Saramati View Modern School and Asela of Holy Cross School were declared first, second and third.  The programme culminated with plantation drives at the Schools compound.
