CONDUCT OF HSLC AND HSSLC (COMPARTMENTAL & IMPROVEMENT) EXAMINATIONS 2024  

            The NBSE will be conducting the HSLC Compartmental & Improvement Examinations 2024 and HSSLC Compartmental & Improvement Examinations 2024 simultaneously from 11th June 2024 to 21st June 2024.

The National Credit Framework (NCrF) as envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizes the adoption of Credit Transfer Policy at various stages of education. Therefore, keeping this principle in mind, the eligibility criteria for the HSLC and HSSLC Compartmental Examination and Improvement of Performance has been raised from 3 (three) to 4(four) subjects’ w.e.f. 2024 examination in the greater interests of the students to clear their failed subjects as well as for students to improve their performance.

A candidate who failed in 4 (four) or less subjects in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2024 are allowed to sit for the HSLC /HSSLC Compartmental Examination. Eligible Compartmental candidates are given 2(two) chances to clear the needs improvement/failed subjects. A qualified/passed candidate of HSLC and HSSLC Examination 2024 and desirous of improving his/her performance are allowed to appear the Improvement Examination in 4(four) or less subjects.

Provision for candidates who qualified at the HSLC Examination but secured Needs Improvement in one subject are also given the opportunity to reappear in the Needs Improvement subject at the immediate examination so that they can apply for courses, fulfill certain recruitment criteria and employment where they need to pass in all the subject they have opted.

In the HSLC Compartmental Examination 2024, 3006 students are enrolled and in Improvement Examination 81 students have enrolled. The examination will be conducted in 18 centres in the district headquarters including Pungro sub-division.

For HSSLC, 1703 have enrolled for the Compartmental Examination and 77 students are enrolled under Improvement of Performance and candidates are allotted in 17 examination centres across the state. Break-up of statistics stream-wise is as follows: In Compartmental,   Arts – 1227, Commerce – 62 and Science – 414 and in Improvement examination Arts – 8 and Science – 69.

The Board had an online meeting with all the Centre Superintendents on 3rd June 2024 and pertinent issues for fair and smooth conduct of the examinations were discussed.

Further, the statistics booklets are uploaded in the Board’s portal, students who have enrolled for HSLC and HSSLC Compartmental & Improvement Examinations 2024 are requested to check their examination centres at www.nbsenl.edu.in and collect their Admit Cards in their respective examination centres.
