NOA TO CONDUCT RACES AS PART OF OLYMPIC DAY CELEBRATION

The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has announced its participation in the global celebration of Olympic Day on 24th June 2023 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, under the theme “Let’s Move”. This year the event is designed to inspire children and youth aged 4 to 16 years, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle, promote sportsmanship and celebrate the Olympic spirit.

The event will be conducted in various race categories catering to different age groups, ensuring an inclusive and engaging experience for all participants. The race categories are as follows: 30 Meters for 4 years and above to below 6 years (Born after 1st June 2017). 50 Meters for 6 years and above to below 9 years (Born after 1st June 2014). 80 Meters for 9 years and above to below 13 years (Born after 1st June 2010). 100 Meters for 13 years and above to below 16 years (Born after 1st June 2007).

NOA has encouraged parents, guardians, schools and sports enthusiasts to actively support and encourage their children’s participation in this memorable event. By joining the Olympic day Run, young participants will not only engage in physical fitness but also develop lasting friendship and a sense of unity through sports.

The Nagaland Olympic Association is glad to announce that a total cash prize of Rs 50,400 will be awarded to the winners, along with merit certificate from the Nagaland Olympic Association. Each participant will also receive certificate from the International Olympic Committee.

Registration for the Olympic Day Run is open to all young participants aged 4 to 16 years. There is no entry fee. The last date for registration is 18th June 2023.
